On December 11th, 2011, Ryan Hall was enjoying dinner in the company of friends, when a man approached the table, requesting a lighter. After informing him the table was comprised of non-smokers, the man became enraged, demonstrating violent behavior and directly threatening Ryan Hall. Having this be Ryan Hall makes it a million times better as he uses all those crazy sport techniques like 50/50 and inverted guard that people claim have no part in Jiu Jitsu and hate on sport Jiu Jitsu as a self defense method. Every BJJ blackbelt, including Ryan Hall, knows the basic self defense techniques they learned as a white and blue belt. Those techniques just don’t have a place in world class jiu jitsu tournaments, so you never get to see them on YouTube. Well done by Mr. Hall.
